Best Omega 3 fatty acids

Best Omega 3 fatty acids

Why should we take Fish Oil Supplements?

Did you know that, according to a Harvard study, between 72,000 and 96,000 people die from Omega 3 deficiency?  Not from the deficiency itself, but from diseases they contract because of being Omega3 deficient.

These data were taken from a research done in 2005. And these deaths could have been prevented.

And are you aware that it is very difficult to get Omega 3 essential fatty acids from our regular diet?  Canola oil and flax seed oil can give us some Omega 3, namely ALA, or alpha-linolenic-acid. But the two most important fatty acids, DHA and EPA, are only obtainable by eating fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel, sardines, tuna etc. Or by taking high quality fish oil supplements.

Our diet gives us plenty Omega 6. Actually it gives us too much of that. The ratio between the intake of Omega 3 and Omega 6 would be ideal at 1 : 1. Even 1 : 3 could still be acceptable.  But right now it is 1 : 20 and way too high. We find Omega 6 in poultry, eggs, cereals, fried foods and in most of the fast foods we eat. Omega 6 is considered a “bad” fat although it also has some good points. It makes the platelets sticky so our blood can clot and wounds will stop bleeding. On the other hand, if we take in too much Omega 6 we will develop cholesterol which will stick to our arteries and narrow them.

Both, Omega 3 and Omega 6 consist of essential fatty acids. But the hormones derived from these two classes of fatty acids have opposite effects. Too much Omega 6 might increase inflammation, blood clots and high blood pressure. Omega 3 does the opposite.

Too much Omega 6 in relation to not enough Omega 3 will interfere with our ability to process the Omega 3 properly.

The benefit of taking quality fish oil supplements is recognized by both, mainstream and alternative medical practitioners.

The imbalance of these two Omegas, 3 and 6 may explain the rise in asthma, coronary heart disease, some forms of cancer and neuro-degenerative diseases. It may also be the cause of obesity, depression, dyslexia, hyperactivity and even violence. This possibility has been voiced by Dr. Joseph Gibbeln MD, a psychiatrist at the National Institute of Health, and one of the world’s leading authorities on the relationship between fat consumption and mental health.

I see people lining up every day to have their H1N1 flu shot. And yes, I do know there are people that have died from this flu, even children. and that is sad. However, every year people die from one flu or another. That is a fact. But since there are already vaccines for the other flu(s?) pharmaceutical companies don’t need to sell those vaccines….they already are used. In my, maybe not so humble opinion, this whole thing has been blown out of proportion, trying to scare people into getting their shot so the pharmaceutical companies can make more money.

Well…..maybe it’s better to be safe than sorry. What I don’t understand is why people are so anxious to get flu shots without really knowing what is in that needle. On the other hand many of these people don’t seem to be interested in keeping their brain and their cardio vascular system  healthy by taking a vital, natural product.

Do you experience a memory lapse every now and then? Do you have problems concentrating on the task you are doing? You think  you might not be giving your brain exactly what it needs? As I said: “It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Get yourself some high quality fish oil supplements. They’re affordable and have so many other benefits besides being the perfect brain food.
